Lawyer and politician, deputy, Minister of State and National Education. She was born on March 2, 1965, in the Ayrancı district of Karaman, as the daughter of a family of ten children. His father's name is Ferit Bey, his mother's name is Emine Hanım. After Ereğli (Konya) Cumhuriyet High School, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law (1988). After completing his legal internship, he started to work as a freelance lawyer in 1990. He worked as a lawyer at the Istanbul Bar Association Child Rights Commission and Juvenile Courts, and worked at the Istanbul Bar Association Social Rights Commission. He served under the same bar association and took part in the bar association's Human Rights Commission.

Nimet Çubukçu, one of the founding members of the Justice and Development Party, was elected as Istanbul deputy in the general elections held on 3 November 2002 and served as the Minister of State for Women and Family in the 59th Government as of June 2, 2005. He became Minister of Education. She became the longest-serving female minister in the history of the Republic by serving as a minister for a total of six years, including both ministries. Çubukçu was appointed as the Minister of State for Women and Family on 2 June 2005. He was also a member of the European Union (EU) Harmonization Commission. Çubukçu, who was Istanbul Deputy in the 22nd and 23rd terms of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, also served as a member of the Turkey-European Union Joint Parliamentary Commission in the 22nd term.

In the general elections held on July 22, 2007, he was re-elected as AKP Istanbul deputy. She was brought to the Ministry of State in the 60th government of the Republic of Turkey and served as the only female minister of the government for a long time. She was appointed to the Ministry of National Education on May 3, 2009 from the Ministry of State Responsible for Women and Family on 3 May 2009.

In the general election held on 12 June 2011, Çubukçu was re-elected as Istanbul deputy from the AK Party list. After the elections, he left the duty of the Ministry of National Education to Ömer Dinçer. Afterwards, he was appointed as the chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Coup and Memorandums Research Commission.

Nimet (Head) Çubukçu, who is the mother of a child named Çağrı, ended her marriage with Birol Çubukçu, whom she met and married during her university years, on 15 July 2011. Nimet Baş (Çubukçu) speaks intermediate level German.
